Pussy & Sorrow: Opening The Theta Door CD

There seems to be very little information circulating on the internet about Pussy & Sorrow – no biography, no press release, no prior albums. Somehow that seems to be oddly indicative of the primal, mind-melting blast that takes place on "Opening the Theta Door." The album is split neatly into three 12 minute bombardments of sound with the first, "De Veritas Dom Deus," acting as the template for the remaining two. The track approximates what Kevin Drumm remixing The Dead C may sound like while the following two pieces add a swarm of electronic processing that rumbles and seethes. Pussy & Sorrow reaches that rare confluence of sound that is incredibly noisy and distorted, but not necessarily punishing or discordant, much like a torrent of deafening liquid from a waterfall that somehow tranquilizes while violence gnashes at its core. – Ryan Potts, Experimedia
Pussy & Sorrow amplifies the emptiness vibrating at the core of all beings, then combines the resultant noise with brainwave frequency enhancement technologies to lead the listener into a state of supra-conscious awareness. The most accurate genre description for "Opening the Theta Door" is Therapeutic Noise, which has much in common with Harsh Noise, Ambient Noise Wall and New Age. Major influences include The Cherry Point, La Monte Young, the "holocaust" section of My Bloody Valentine's live show, Tim Hecker, Kevin Drumm, the NASA Voyager Recordings and Steven Halpern. Optimal listening experience is provided by headphones. Drugs are optional. Please do not drive or operate heavy machinery while listening to Therapeutic Noise (nor shortly thereafter).
